The July 2020 launch of Festool cordless power tools introduced their 18V Li-HighPower 4.0 battery platform. One of the flagship tools of the lineup is the Festool TID 18 Impact Driver, which combines ergonomics, power, and precise fastener control.
The Festool TID 18 Impact Driver features a brushless motor that cranks out a respectable 1,593 in-lbs of muscle. Having recently tested the impressive Festool PDC 18/4 QuaDrive cordless drill, we expect these numbers to hold true.
But, it’s not all unregulated torque coming from the TID 18. Festool bills this tool as a precision-performance driver. It has 3 different speed settings, as well as a T-Mode setting that differentiates between wood and metal fastening applications, keeping you from overtightening.
The Festool TID 18 also features a lightweight and ergonomic design to get you into tighter spots with less fatigue. For added utility, it also comes with magnetic bit storage and a removable belt clip.
Beginning in July, you can find the Festool TID 18 Impact Driver as a bare tool for $199. It will also come in a variety of kit configurations. Sold with two battery packs and a TCL 6 rapid charger, you can pick it up for $349. Another option, which kits together the TID 18 along with the TSC 55 Track Saw, can be purchased for $875.
Lastly, the Festool TID 18 Impact Driver comes with an all-inclusive 3-year warranty on the tool, battery, and charger. Festool directly handles all service and warranty requests. This results in an average turn-around in two business days and guarantees better workmanship than you might see with outsourcing.
